Bonnie’s early years were hard. She was bullied about her weight, her brother was born with an illness that lasted into his teenage years, and the family that is the center of her world had to deal with infidelity.
She weaves a heartwarming tale of a loving, supportive family that time and again finds a way to show up for each other.

I really enjoyed the old time Chicago life as Bonnie told it through her humor. My grandparents and parents grew up in Chicago too so even as a little kid I remember that Chicago neighborhood feeling when we’d visit them.
I was really enraged about how Bonnie was treated as a young, overweight woman looking for work as a secretary despite her outstanding qualifications. Ultimately Bonnie rose to the challenge and proved her worth to everyone. It was a beautiful love story. – Verified Amazon Purchase
A light must read!
I really enjoyed this book. It is a memoir about a seemingly ordinary family that had real family issues and triumphs in it. The main character goes from childhood, to teenage years, to getting married to a military man and the “adventures” that come with that.
